Organizing Your Home Office

When organizing your office, you’ve got a couple choices. Write a list of all the little things that need to be done and work on them a few minutes each day, or dive straight into the deep end and do it all in one fell swoop.
If you’re sick of your entire office, box it all up like you’re moving, and set the boxes in a different room. Then unpack one box at a time and organize from the bottom –up. Make sure to file papers as you go along.
I like the “little at a time” approach. My first step would be to take all the papers that are scattered about and put them into one box. You can file these now, or clean your desktop and surrounding area further. I like putting all the filing together, all the books together, and then working on one pile at a time.
If several folks in your home are receiving mail, you can use wall-mounted acrylic holders and just label them with each person’s name. That takes care of the mail lying around.
A friend of mine keeps all her bills on her refrigerator with a magnet. As soon as they come in, they go straight on the fridge. That way, they can’t get lost underneath piles of papers. I’ve adopted this idea and it’s saved me a huge headache. Now I don’t have a bunch of envelopes and bills lying around on my desktop, just waiting for payday.
Decide what your office needs and designate a spot for each item. If you make calls from this area, you’ll need a phone, phone book, message pad and pens.
You’ll need a place for the computer and accessories, plus a spot for copy paper.
Set up the basics first, and then decide item-by-item what else you want to place in your office. Do you have room for personal items? Pictures can be placed on a bulletin board or hung on the wall. You ability to focus and accomplish is affected by a messy desktop, so make it a priority to keep it decluttered.
Once you’ve set up the office and filed your paperwork, you can buy some colored folders or stickers and color-code your files to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.
If you take just 15 minutes every other day to clean off your desk and surrounding work area, you’ll find your home office a much more pleasant place to work! And your personal efficiency will skyrocket as well!

Starting An Internet Business In Hours With These 9 Proven Secrets

by: Aaron Herman

With the right guidance, an Internet business can start generating income almost immediately. A home internet business can be very successful for people who have the dedication, skills and patience to await agradual increase in business and income. There are several ways how an internet business can be started. However, no matter which internet business is being initiated, it won't make an impact at first.

The start up costs for an internet home business are next to nothing compared to the offline world of business start ups. In fact it is a lot more simple to start and grow a business on the internet. Of course you need some knowledge to begin your internet home business enterprise. But you don't need a "Bacc" to do business on the web.

All you need is some computer knowledge and some internet marketing basis and a good dose of determination.

Here is some basic tips on how to start an internet home business.

== 1.Write Your Business Goals ==

It is important to set goals and objectives and then take action to accomplish them. This will be your Business Plan.

Here Are Some questions you should ask yourself:

- Why do I want to start up an Internet Home Business?

- What product or service can I provide?

- Do I have the knowledge and expertise to provide this service?

- Do I know enough about the competition?

- Where will my customers come from?

Take the time to write down your questions and answers and thoroughly research your chosen market.

== 2. Choose A Product or Service To Sell ==

On the internet you can find hundreds of product or services to sell.

You can sell your own product by creating your own, or purchasing resale rights or being an affiliate with a good internet company.

Don't put your personal gains first. Make sure that the product will deliver what it promises. When you promote a product that leaves the buyer dissatisfied, you' ll only be ruining your business. So sell solutions and the money will come.

== 3. Business Domain Name ==

One important first step is to choose the best domain name you can. Keep it as short and simple as possible.

Think of domain name like " Google " or " Yahoo ". They are short and easy to remember.

I know that some people say to use keyword in you're domain name. But if you choose " Internet Business " there is million of site with this term.

So are you going to use for example "AprofitableInternethomebusiness.com" it might be a nice name but it is too long and not simple.

== 4. Your Business Web Site ==

Having A good business website is essential to succeed with an internet home business.

Here is the thing you have to plan to build your website

A) Decide on the website design (color schemes, buttons, special effects etc). However, you may have a preference for a certain color or look. To help you choose a design, you may wish to check out other people's websites or work with your web designer's pre-set templates.

(b) The content. There are many items you may wish to include on your website. The most common ones include:

1 Products And Services

2. Contact Information

3. Pricing

4. Testimonials

5. Frequently Asked Questions

6. Resources & Articles

7. Refund Policy

8. Privacy Policy

9. About Us

10. Site Map

11. Useful Links

12. On-line store

== 5. Choose a Web Hosting Company ==

What is a Web hosting Company?

A Web host is a company that provides server space for your website. You can think of a web host as a commercial building. The web host provides space for your website just as a commercial building provides space for your shop or office.

What are some of the things you should look for when choosing a web host? The criteria for choosing a free web host and a commercial web hosting solution are slightly different although they do overlap.

A) Web Space

Does it have enough space for your needs? If you envisage that you will expand your site eventually, you might want to cater for future expansion. Most sites use less than 5MB of web space. Indeed, at one time, one of my other web sites, thefreecountry.com, used less than 5MB of space although it had about 150 pages on the site. Your needs will vary, depending on how many pictures your pages use, whether you need sound files, video clips, etc.

B) Bandwidth allotment

Nowadays, many free web hosts impose a limit on the amount of traffic your website can use per day and per month. This means that if the pages (and graphic images) on your site is loaded by visitors beyond a certain number of times per day (or per month), the web host will disable your web site (or perhaps send you a bill).

It is difficult to recommend a specific minimum amount of bandwidth, since it depends on how you design your site, your target audience, and the number of visitors you're able to attract to your site. In general, 100MB traffic per month is too little for anything other than your personal home page and 1-3GB traffic per month is usually adequate for a simple site just starting out. Your mileage, however, will vary.

C) Reliability and speed of access

This is extremely important. A site that is frequently down will lose a lot of visitors. If someone finds your site on the search engine, and he tries to access it but find that it is down, he'll simply go down the list to find another site. Slow access is also very frustrating for visitors (and for you too, when you upload your site).

How do you know if a host is reliable or fast? If you can't get feedback from anyone, one way is to try it out yourself over a period of time, both during peak as well as non-peak hours. After all, it is free, so you can always experiment with it.

== 6. Shopping Cart ==

No e-commerce website is complete without a secure shopping cart. There are many shopping cart options. Many e-commerce business owners make the mistake of using Pay Pal to accept payments, which immediately tells visitors that their company is very small and not professional.

A good alternative to Pay Pal is a remotely hosted shopping cart. Remote shopping carts take the burden of maintaining security and credit card numbers off your shoulder and places the responsibility on another company. Remote shopping carts can usually be configured to look similar to your website.

In fact, your customers may not realize that they have left your website to place an order. The remote shopping cart provider will give you the HTML to add to your website. When your potential customer clicks on the Buy Now button, he or she is taken to the remote shopping cart to enter the personal information and payment details.

Depending on your choice of a shopping cart, you may or may not need a merchant account to process transactions. Some shopping cart services allow you to use their merchant accounts for a slightly higher fee.

== 7. How To Promote Your Business Website ==

Write An Article: Write an article promoting your site or product. Write an article on a hot topic many people would like more information on and submit it to various e-zines. How do you find out what's hot? Visit a few of the message boards and see what questions are raised often.

Search Engines: Thousands of search engines exist on the Internet. But, you should only be concerned with the top eight or ten. You should manually submit to the top eight: Alta Vista, Excite, Yahoo, Hotbot, Lycos, Northern Light, Infoseek, Webcrawler, and use one of the FREE automatic submission services like *SubmitPlus* to handle the smaller search engines.

Directories: List your site here too. Directories organize sites into categories. Good examples of Directories: Yahoo, Magellan.

Ezine Listings: If you have an e-zine to promote along with your site. Why not list it with one of the many e-zine services on the Internet. E-zine Library is a good one to start with.

Free Classifieds: You will have to submit to a ton of FREE classifieds to get any significant traffic. Why? You are competing with thousands of other Ads. Remember to work on your Ad copy and make it attention grabbing. Go to one of the popular search engines, type in Free Classifieds, and surf to the top 20 classified sites for beginners.

Often, these sites will lead you to several other Free Classified Sites. In response you'll get a stack of e-mail thanking you for listing your site while barking their promo. Best to get one of those free email accounts. Hot mail is a good one. So is Yahoo mail.

FFA Pages. Free For All's are worth a try. Be prepared for a avalanche of e-mails from FFA web site owners. If your title is attention grabbing you will get a few clicks. Good Attention grabbing headlines, FREE, Limited Time, Limited Offer, Proven, Secrets, and many more if you brainstorm. Check out the sales literature delivered to you by regular mail. Check and see what headlines grab your attention. And why? Incorporate them into your Online Ads.

Tell Friends And Family: If your friends, family, acquaintances, have an Internet Connection, e-mail them telling them about your new website, and ask them to visit often. Offer a FREE incentive if they tell a few friends to surf over. Perhaps, a FREE Ad in your e-zine.

Leave Business Cards or Flyers: Leave these promo pieces with small businesses in your community. All relevant contact information; email address, URL, telephone number, should be included. Offer a freebie to anyone who visits your site. A free e-book, report.

== 8. TRACK YOUR MARKETING ==

Here are some questions to consider:

1) How many unique visitors come to your website?

2) How many visitors opt-in to your mailing list or order your products?

3) When you send emails, how many are opened and how many people actually click through to your website?

The reason these question are so important is because if you don't know these stats, you won't know what to improve. It could be different things; like your headlines, the content or navigation on your website. You won't know until you start checking all your marketing offer.

== 9. YOUR BUSINESS IN CONCLUSION ==

Think of your first six months primarily as a training period. Don't expect large earnings until after you've educated yourself.

Even the most dynamic, highest-earning entrepreneurs in the industry took MONTHS to begin seeing an income of any real significance with their internet home business.

Don't be a negative thinker and don't let the negative attitudes of others (even if they're family members, friends, or peers) influence you.

All the great men and women in history had to overcome the naysayers who said it couldn't be done and then went out and did it. Think for yourself!

As long as you think positive and focused on your internet home business target you re on the right way to a rich life, which is directed by you and it will lead you to tremendous success and personnal satisfaction.

Building an Internet business can be very rewarding when you start making money online out of the comforts of your own home. If you've always wanted to be self-employed and be your own boss. Then having an internet business will open this up for you. You just need to work on it.

The Top 7 Overlooked E-bay Success Tips

by: Jamie Sloan

Last year alone, millions of people made a profit on e-bay. Some were just selling odds and ends, while some ran huge businesses exclusively on e-bay. The amount of commerce done on the internet is only expected to increase, making prospects for e-bay users bright. You very well may be one of the people who's discovered the great benefits of making money from e-bay auctions. I myself have been an e-bay user for a little over a year and have had great success with my auctions.

When my friend began her business on e-bay selling high end purses, it started out quite rocky. Her auctions weren't getting the hits she wanted and usually sold off of one bid, instead of creating the bidding frenzy that beautiful bags like she had should have!

So, she called me up knowing I had been successfully using e-bay for almost a year at the time. She gave me her login information (we're best friends- she trusts me!) and asked me to check her her sales and current auctions and see if I noticed where the problem was. When I saw her current auctions, alot became obvious!

So, I compiled a list of things that I had used which had made me successful which I suggested she implement into her own auctions. I even revised the auctions she had active at the time. One of those auctions- a gorgeous brown Coach purse- sold for $546.00. She had listed it for $125.00. It was her biggest sale yet and she was thrilled.

The funny thing is, the methods I use are not some internet guru secrets. They are just things I picked up during my time using e-bay, but seem to be overlooked alot of the time. Here are what I have found to be the top 7 overlooked tips for successful e-bay auctions:

1. The Importance of a Good Title- When you're creating a title for your auction, you've gotta think like a buyer. When I checked my friend's listings, she had a beautiful, brand new brown patchwork Coach purse titled as 'coach purse'. This is way too general! A buyer knows what they want; in your title, include color, any brand name, main keywords that people will search, and condition is possible. I changed her title to "Brown & Beige Patchwork Coach Purse-Brand New". By the next day, it had over 100 new hits. Previously her auctions were hardly even reaching 100 hits throughout the whole 5 days.

Another mistake people often make is writing things like 'The best wristwatch ever!!!!" Even if you do believe you're selling the best wristwatch ever, is this really what a buyer is searching for? Of course not. Use a more descriptive, detailed title like 'Gold Armani Wrist Watch w/ Leather Band-New".

One more thing when it comes to titles: make sure keywords are included. For example, whatever the item you're selling actually IS, include that in the title. On e-bay, I mostly sell high end women's heels. I always make sure to include in my title 'Womens Shoes" because this is a common keyword. An example of a title I would use is:

"Brown Marc Jacobs Womens Silver Stud Pumps Shoes"- I know that 'pumps shoes' sounds awkward, but many women will search for "marc jacobs womens shoes", and I want to be sure my item shows up in the results. Use these tips when creating your title and you'll be sure to see increased traffic to your auction.

2. Give honest descriptions- Sure, that stain, tear, or other defect may be sooo small that it's almost impossible to notice. Still, mention it in your auction. If you send an item out and a buyer realizes that the item has a defect that you didn't mention in the auction description, they will be disappointed and very possibly leave you negative feedback. Anyone familiar with e-bay knows that feedback is everything. It is what makes people feel comfortable buying from you and proves that you are a trustworthy, reliable buyer.

It's best to provide a photo of any defects so potential buyers can see what they're getting. And believe me, if you say that there's a defect but don't show a picture, people will e-mail you asking for some. I have sometimes had a defect so tiny on a shoe that I couldn't even get it to show up in a picture. If that's the case, say it! Provide a picture of the area where the defect is and also explain in your listing that it's so miniscule that you can't get it to show up in the picture. Buyers will trust you much more and be way more willing to buy from you in the future. You also won't have to deal with an unsatisfied customer who can damage your feedback rating and make future potential buyers hesitant or even completely dissaude them from buying from you.

3. Offer International Shipping- So often I see sellers who are providing great products but don't offer international shipping. Let me tell you- about 30% of my sales are to international buyers, and very often international buyers will pay more for products. I never understood why people are restraining their own sales potential by not offering international shipping.

Remember, the buyer is the one who pays the shipping, not you!! Even though international shipping is expensive, you are not paying it! And don't be discouraged thinking sending things internationally is difficult- it's super simple and not much different then sending things within the country. If you use USPS (the method I find most efficient for prices and service), you may have to fill out a short customs sheet that takes no more than a minute. Don't be lazy! Offer international shipping and see your sales soar!

4. Send a Thank You card with your purchase- You can get packs of black decorative cards from any general store, WalMart, or even discount chains like TJ Maxx. Buy a couple packs and with people's packages, send a nice thank you card.

You don't have to write a dialog, just a simple "Name of Buyer, Thanks so much for your bid! Enjoy your purchase, and I hope to do business with you in the future! Your Name or Business Name" If you want to really go all out and rake in some super feedback, include a small free gift. When I sell a pair of shoes I usually include a free headband or pair of earrings. If you'd like to try this out, try to find something that compliments whatever it is that you're selling. You could also include a little bag of candy or some tea light candles (go to the dollar store for great knick knacks and free gift ideas). Use your imagination to make your customers satisfied and loyal!

5. Offer combined shipping Buyers love combined shipping. If you offer a good combined shipping deal, and have more than one item they're interested in, they're ten times more likely to buy both items. Some people choose to determine combined shipping depending upon the two items the buyer is interested in, while others have set shipping rules. A good example is to charge $_.__ for the first item and offer to send the second item free, or for $1.00-$2.00 more. Usually the additional weight of the package isn't much so it's possible to offer combined shipping without losing any profit at all. Determine your own rates depending on the weight of the items you sell and the shipping service you use.

6.Keep communication with Buyers open and offer more pictures upon request. Of course in your listing you must include good pictures to attract buyers. Most people include 2-4 pictures per listing, depending on the size of the items and any special details you've got to show. I always include at least 3 pictures, and more if I feel the item needs more pictures of some detail it has that is unique.

Even though you have already provided your buyers with good pictures, it's helpful to write in your listing "Contact me with any questions or for more pictures. (with your contact info)" This is another method that makes buyers instantly trust you more and feel more comfortable placing bids. They feel that the communication lines are open and that they can get more info on the item if needed. And don't be discouraged thinking that you'll spend the whole day responding to e-mails requesting more photos; If you've already included good pictures, most people won't bother asking for more. Of over 50 listings where I've written this, only one person ever asked me for additional pictures. Check your e-mail though at least once a day to see if you've got any questions, people love quick responses and will reward you with good feedback for your effective communication.

7. Always use Delivery Confirmation- This is a biggie! Make sure that when you post your shipping costs, delivery confirmation costs are included so buyers aren't questioning the extrra expense when they receive their invoice. Delivery confirmation is a cheap effective way to ensure both your own and the buyer's investment.

First of all, you do not want to get scammed. What? Scammed? Yes, it happens. I know that most of the scamming referred to on e-bay is about sellers who scam their buyers, but don't be naive; we sellers are also at risk. Although the majority of the e-bay community is good people who are just trying to conduct legitimate transactions, there are those rotten apples which make it hard for all of us.

The usefulness of delivery confirmation was brought to my attention my an acquaintence of mine who does some selling on e-bay. He sold some very high quality digital remote for around $250.00. He shipped the item using delivery confirmation, and after about a week told me he received an e-mail from the buyer saing she'd never received the product. She filed a whole complaint with e-bay and made a big fuss about it. GOOD THING he had the delivery confirmation number and was able to prove that the product had been shipped to her address. Don't let one of these scammers get a chance to cheat you out of your money.

Making delivery confirmation a requirement is also something that will make serious bidders trust you more and see that you're a legitimate business person who wants to secure shipment. Think about it; if someone requests NOT to use delivery confirmation, you can guess where their intentions are. The extra .75 is not breaking anyone's piggy bank, so don't feel bad about it.

There you have it! Use these highly useful yet highly overlooked tips to generate more traffic to your auctions and enjoy higher sale prices. To e-bay success!

Starting a Home Business? Start with what you know.

Bob Cortez

The most frequently asked question I receive as an Internet home business consultant usually goes something like this; "I would really like to start my own home business on the Internet, but I don't know what." The short answer is - Start with what you know and enjoy.

There are a number of good reasons for this

By drawing on existing knowledge, you can concentrate on building a business rather than learning about a new trade, product, or service.

Starting and running a home business means long hours and sacrifice. It is easier to do when you are doing something you enjoy.

Selling what you know and enjoy is less difficult for non-salespeople. Selling what you know and enjoy is less difficult for non-salespeople.
The Internet offers unique opportunities for the home business netrepreneur. It creates the ability to reach a much larger potential market for your product, service, or information at a much lower price than through conventional advertising mediums.

The Internet and World Wide Web are still in their infancy. Right now, you can get everything you need to put your business online - free. It is like someone offering you a store (web hosting), full time staff (web pages, auto responders) and advertising (lots of advertising) for free. All you have to do is come up with an idea for a product or service to put in the store.

One of my favorite examples is my mother's home business. She builds very creative and unique birdhouses. She uses scrap lumber from a local sawmill (free) and driftwood from the local beach (free), to keep her material costs low. Another local artist provides the miniature sculptures for a percentage of the sales. She started by building and selling these for the local tourist trade in Homer Alaska, and was doing ok. But when we put them on the Internet (http://www.ptialaska.net/~cortez/) sales really began to soar. Not everyone that would be interested in the birdhouses can afford to visit Homer, and we certainly couldn't afford to advertise to the world in any other way. We were able to reach this larger market by using free web hosting, design, and promotion services. Once we developed a flow of traffic, we were able to create additional income streams by selling other peoples products as well. (I'll discuss this further later in this article)

This business model can work for just about any product that can be shipped. What unique item can you build using local materials? Do you have a craft or gift idea that is unique? How about a kit or plans for something you have built?

Information is another type of product. What do you know or know how to do that would be of interest or value to others? You can either sell that information as a report, or a tip booklet. Or you can give the information away at your store and sell other peoples related products for a commission. The advantage here is that once you put your information in the store it is done. You don't have to keep building it and shipping it. If your not comfortable with writing your own material you can use a ghostwriter (http://www.home-work.net).

Another home business opportunity that is unique to the Internet is based on common interests. What do you have a special interest in that others may share? Music, books, computers, cars, gardening, collectibles, etc…? The idea in this business model is to create a site with information and resources available online of interest to others. Then you select products to sell of interest to people that would be visiting your site. For instance, if you had an avid interest in a particular type of music. You could develop a site that was a resource for others with that same interest. The site could include links to artists sites, reviews of the latest releases, concert tour information, photos, sound clips, interview excerpts, a chat room, or discussion board. You become an "associate" of one of the CD distributors online and receive a commission on CD's that are sold. The distributor does the entire order fulfillment. The number and variety of companies that have an associate program online is growing daily. They cover all kinds of products and services from gifts to computers or web hosting to credit cards.

Start with what you know, apply some imagination, and open your low cost home business online. The market is growing everyday - world wide.

How to Make a Treasure Board!

complied and submitted by Sherri Caldwell

These ideas where shared and complied from the Work At Home Mom's (WAHM) Mailing list.

I wanted to put up a big rectangle of corkboard for Zach to put all his art projects and special things on (he is a big collector of little pieces of scrap--stickers, tickets, pictures, etc.), but my husband was totally against the idea of pushpins for a 2 1/2 year old, which actually makes a lot of sense.. so I asked for alternatives from the WAHM Mailing List. This is a compilation of those alternative. Enjoy!

1. Maybe this is too crazy - but how about a piece of sheet metal and fridge magnets? I think you can get this pretty inexpensively at the hardware, building-type stores.

2. I may have an idea to the alternative to push pins. At church in the class rooms on the chalk board,(actually dry erase boards) they have these clips that you can hang pictures for the lessons. I was thinking that if you had a section of wall that you wanted to use, you could take and string yarn or other string across at different horizontal lengths, (like a clothes line) and Zack could use clothes pins to hang his works of art or treasures. Let me know if this sounds like a good idea. I myself am going to get enough of that cork board to cover a section of the wall. I figure if it is up high enough, the kids won't bother it. But my idea I just gave you could be a good alternative (?)

3. Try velcro. You can get the kind that has a sticky backing. I get mine at Wal-Mart or a fabric store. You could stick (or glue for permanence) one side to the cork board and stick the other side to the paper your son wants to display. You wouldn't even need cork board. You could use a piece of poster board.

4. There is this stuff at Wal-Mart and similar stores which is kind of like putty that you can hang posters and such on walls and is removable. I can't think of the name of it but I think it is in the office/school supply department with the push pins. I don't know if it would work on corkboard, but you could give it a try.

5. Wow. Listen to your husband on this one. Did you know that tacks, if swallowed by a little one, can stick in the throat and act like a valve? Like, it can let the air out of the little person, then flip closed when he tries to breath in. It will work the same way if someone is trying to give CPR. Tacks are terribly dangerous.

As an alternative, how about that stuff that is like clay. You pull a piece of it off, and it acts like clay. Or maybe some double sided tape. You could save a little money here, instead of buying a cork board, maybe a nice large, decorated poster board.

Hope you find something that works. It's important to make their space their space!

6. Sorry, I don't know the name of this but most any teacher could probably tell you. There is a restickable glue (similar to that used in post-it notes as well as a substance that looks like putty and is also reusable for tacking things up. You may need to get a white board for Zach instead of a corkboard but probably any good teacher supply or office supply store could help! Secondly, you could make a felt board and use a glue like Aleene's Tack It Over and Over.

7. Glue velcro to the backs, and have a felt board, I am also told it you have the right cover on the board (possibly also felt) and put a swipe of rubber cement on the photo, it will stick. Maybe the back was a laminant. I can't remember. Then, theres the old "gum" method. Most craft stores sell a product that sort of looks like gum, and it is intended to hold posters on the wall. You cannot use it on certain painted walls, tho. I got some at Wal-Mart and it works!! It was in the school/office supplies.

8. Criss-cross your corkboard with several strips of ribbon, securing them tightly to the back of the corkboard. This works especially well if you pad the board (doesn't have to be cork) with foam and cover that with a decorative fabric; then criss-cross the ribbons diagonally. Then your son slides his pictures in behind the ribbon. (I saw this on an episode of Martha Stewart - must have been sick that day...)

9. Use self sticking velcro. You can put strips of velcro on the board, and then cut squares in the part that sticks to the velcro. The velcro has adhesive on both sides so it can be attached to anything. YOu can get it at any fabric store and it usually runs $1.00 for about 3 feet. If you need more info on this, please let me know. It is kinda hard to explain using words.

10. Older mom here. My baby is now 18 LOL. Try using the poster board stickum like they use in college dorms now. And instead of a cork board use a dry message board.

11. I just read your problem about where to tack you son's collection. You could display them on a metallic board or the fridge with rubber magnets. My son loves to play with the variety of rubbers magnets on our fridge. Just a thought.

12. How about gluing all of his scraps and things onto posterboard and making an ongoing collage. My 2&1/2 year old loves to cut (with safe scissors) and glue paper.

13. Sherri, 3m has some tackie tape that you can buy. I've used on walls and it doesn't remove the paint or hurt the finish. I got them at a teacher learning type of store. I'm sure you can get them at Wal-mart or some sort of art supply store.

14. I took poster board and glued clothes pins to it then let the kids use fabric paints (that is what I had on hand at the time) to decorate the clothes pins. Works great! Have used them for 3 or 4 years now)

15. I know you or some other creative people could help with exactly what metal object, such as the side of a big filing cabinet. I personally do not like to clutter my refrigerator and could understand why no one else would want to.

My idea was when my school age children were younger, we put all their things in view by the family at all times on the side of our big upright freezer with MAGNETS. Kids love all kind of magnets. Collecting them as well as what they hang with them. You can get big strong ones for those heavy projects. There are so many different kinds and you can always make projects with magnets as well. My children always enjoyed playing with the magnets. They would arrange little scenes, or if the magnets were cars, a pretend road was made. Magnets can be purchased everywhere and sometimes in their favorite cartoon character or animal. The freezer was not something that mattered as far as any scratches, not that they ever made any. They knew the refrigerator was "off limits" except for the few things I hang there for reminders.

Creating Your Own Home-Based Business

Creating Your Own Home-Based Business
by Elena Fawkner

If you're looking for a way to make money from home and you've been online for any length of time you will have quickly become aware of the preponderance of business opportunity sites and ads for many and varied business opportunities. In particular, you've probably been bowled over by all the promises of the fabulous internet riches that can be yours, if you only join so-and-so's innovative new groundfloor opportunity that everybody who is anybody wants in on.

This week I received an email from a subscriber asking for my opinion on a particular business opportunity. She was asking what I "really thought" about it because she had been "burned so many times in the past I just don't know who to trust". Sound familiar?

I've received several emails like this over recent months from people who have been dudded by the charlatans who seem to come out of the woodwork at the mere whiff of a victim, er ... prospect. This latest one though got me wondering exactly why it is that so many people seem to be looking to make a profit from promoting or participating in someone else's business opportunity or product rather than creating their own, using their own ingenuity. And this applies not only to scams but to legitimate business opportunities (yes, they DO exist). After all, no matter how legitimate the opportunity, at least some of your hard work and effort is going to benefit someone else.

Now, admittedly, promoting someone else's product (such as by way of affiliate programs) is a good way to get started in your online career, but it's not going to make you really serious money. By "serious" I mean sufficient money to represent a worthwhile return on the investment of time and effort you must expend to earn significant commission income. By spending the same amount of time and effort promoting your OWN business, your return must necessarily be much greater. After all, you keep 100% of the profits for the same work!

Why is it that some people, let alone those who have already been burned, keep looking for someone else to deliver the answer to their prayers rather than creating it for themselves? Or worse, give up entirely? I'd be willing to bet that, for a goodly proportion, the answer is "I don't have any products of my own to sell" or "I don't have any good ideas" or "I don't know where to start".

Now, it may be that you're just dabbling with the idea of an online business and, for you, promoting a few affiliate programs while you gradually get more involved is a good place for you to be right now. Many of us started out doing exactly that. But for those of you who are ready to get into this in a serious way, have you thought about doing it for yourself? Why not let go of the idea there is a perfect opportunity out there with your name on it if only you can find it, and instead devote your time and your energy to creating it using your own brainpower?

I believe, absolutely and without equivocation, that ANYONE can make money with their own business. The key is to make sure that what you choose for your business is something you are passionate about. If you are passionate about what you do, your natural enthusiasm and motivation will lead you to develop ways to exploit that passion in a way that can generate income.

Let's say one of your absolutely favorite things in the whole world is gardening. You've always loved to garden, you have ever since you first got your own place and you do it every chance you get. Think about how you might translate that natural interest into a profitable business endeavor.

Here's just one suggestion how you can turn your green thumb to your financial advantage: start a gourmet herb business! You could indulge your passion for gardening by planting a herb garden in your backyard, drying and packaging the herbs you grow and marketing them to a niche market. Your niche may be the gourmet market, for example. You might decide to experiment with various combinations of herbs to come up with some exotic gourmet herb blends that are truly original.

You would need to invest in a small greenhouse perhaps and learn about how to dry herbs and all the other facets of a herb business. But once you've mastered that, and experimented with various blends to create a unique product, it's simply a matter of packaging them attractively for your market.

As far as marketing's concerned, this would take place both online and offline. You will, of course, have your own website from which you offer your exotic herb blends for sale. Your website would contain a profile of all the various herbs, what they are good for, recipes and other resources that your site visitors would be interested in. In time, you may even expand into producing herbs for the homeopathic market! You could supplement your website by publishing a weekly or monthly newsletter devoted to all things herbal, including hints and tips for your subscribers wanting to grow their own herbs or who are interested in the health benefits of herbs.

Offline, you could approach local businesses in your area to stock your products and attend weekend markets to build your profile. By placing advertisements in local newspapers and taking an active role in your local Chamber of Commerce you would make the contacts that you need to become known within your local community. Other ways to indulge your passion for gardening while at the same time operating a profitable business venture include: growing your own vegetables to produce gourmet pasta sauces; starting a packaged seeds business or a garden design consultancy service. It doesn't matter. Just make sure it has something to do with what you are truly passionate about.

Gardening is, of course, just one example. Perhaps your passion is sewing, needlecraft, woodworking, computers, sports, parenting, travel, automobiles, leadlighting or any one of a million other things. There is absolutely no reason in the world why you cannot take that passion and convert it into a money-making enterprise, particularly with the internet as a marketing medium.

So, for those of you looking for the right business opportunity "out there" somewhere ... STOP. Let go of the coat-tails, reach inside yourself and grab the one thing you are TRULY passionate about above all others. It is your ticket to a profitable, home business of your very own. And best of all, it's 100% all yours.

Buying Tips For Maximum Profits On Ebay

Buying on eBay can be lots of fun and profiting. If you love bargains, and am yet to see anyone who doesn't, i stand corrected, if there is anyone one out there who doesn't, then eBay is the right place for you. 24 hours a day and the whole year through in the comfort of your own home, you can find and profit from lots of bargains.

From eBay antiques to eBay motors, real estate to sought after event tickets, consumer electronics to collectibles, there is something for everyone on eBay. And these are just a few of the categories i have mentioned. At any one time, eBay has hundreds of thousands of items for sale on its network of sites.

Items are organised into categories on eBay, and these are listed down on the left hand side of the screen. It's amazing what's on sale on eBay. Rather than moving through all this categories, it's a better idea to use eBay
s search facility.

Because eBay has such a massive number of items for sale, its very likely you will be presented with hundreds if not thousands of items when you search for items to buy on eBay. The first thing to have in mind, when you need to buy on eBay will of course be the price.

EBay is supposed to be the bargain warehouse, but over the years, there have been so many items that have exchanged hands for way above their retail value because of the bidding frenzy that comes with certain items offered for sale on the auction site.

It's always a good practice to compare bids if you are involved in an auction, and if this has already exceeded the pre - determined amount you are willing to pay, don't be tempted into a bidding war, just move on and find similar items with a different seller, you are always bound to find these because remember there are thousands of items available for sale on eBay.

Items you buy on eBay will be mailed to you unless stated otherwise, so be very wary of postage and delivery costs when determining the amount you are willing to pay for an item. When you have decided on these, also consider the condition of the item. EBay is an auction site, and as is the case with all auctions, there are always old and new items for sale. So be very careful, usually the seller
s description of the item should give you an idea about its condition.

When in doubt you can always email the seller through eBay's mail system. All good sellers will answer questions regarding their items.

Some auctions come with a "Buy It Now" icon, you can end the auction immediately by paying for the advertised price using the "Buy It Now" icon. I suggest you should only do this if the "Buy It Now" price is within the pre - determined amount you are willing to pay.

Day Job Killer Is Finally Here

Well the long awaited sequel to the incredibly successful affiliate project x is finally here.It is called day job killer and is released on February 6th. The author Chris also released another hugely successful product called adwords miracle. You will understand my anticipation when I tell you that the previous two products increased my online and affiliate profits no end and this came at a time when I was getting very frustrated and considering giving it up and sticking the more reliable but less lucrative adsense.

So what exactly is day job killer? The product is aimed at the problems affiliates have in 2007, not being able to make money online, wasting money on Adwords, not finding good affiliate programs, wanting new advantages over the market. The author has found the solution to these problems, re defined them with cool names and put them into an e-book you can download, read and take action with in one evening. He even successfully tested it on some guinea pig newbies. He claims to have stolen most of the ideas from the super affiliates but I think maybe he should give himself more credit.

I actually sent him an email asking Why he called it day job killer his reply was that it was the most appropriate name he could think of. He did not want to go for billion dollar minute or something similar because it is not about that. It is aimed at the grass roots type who want to make their first $1,000 online. The cannot succeed but will not stop newbie who would die to make $1,000 a week. It is about day job income and the freedom to do what you want with your life by being your own boss. And as for the killer please you know it is going to be brutal, ok so maybe he is not so modest!

Day job killer is effectively a collection of techniques that he took from underground affiliates, six figure renegades and cash rich outcasts. It is a collection of advanced power play techniques that he has focused, repackaged and improved upon. All serve to get you out of your day job, by showing you what the affiliates who are making money are doing. And not an ounce of fluff in the 24,564 words sitting on my desktop. This is definitely the case as with his other products Chris definitely does not go for fluff!

So does this replace affiliate project X and adwords miracle or does it stand on it's own? Chris claims nothing will replace either of his other two guides. I have to agree in my opinion Adwords Miracle is still the number one Adwords package, and Project X was a perfect compliment to it. Day job killer is definitely a one of a kind product in my opinion is not a replacement for either of these packages. Some other marketers out there are calling it affiliate project x 2 but I do not agree. While it does use and elaborate on a couple of concepts from the others you do not need the others to benefit, although I would recommend them.

As a prequel to the launch Chris actually released a free video which showed how he used a specific niche and took it from zero to hero using day job killer. I am not going to give you the exact figures but it was huge. The incredible thing is that he showed you everything and actually said go out and copy it word for word if you want, I did and it is already bringing in hundreds of dollars. What other so called guru would actually do that! Like his products Chris is pretty unique and perhaps a little bit crazy!

Adsense Decoded Review

Adsense Decoded is the latest adsense guide to hit the somewhat overflowing adsense market. Adsense Decoded claims to cover all the steps you need to take in order to make your adsense campaign successful. It consists of a series of videos hosted on the main website which you access with a user name and password. However you can download the videos to your hard drive and watch them at your leisure. For those of you who have been around the internet marketing scene for a while this may sound familiar, it should because the format is remarkably similar to Michael Cheneys Adsense Videos product which was released last year with a recent update.

Adsense decode comes with 10 videos the majority of which are at least 15 mins in length so there is certainly plenty of content. Video 1 shows you how Patrick's (the author) traffic and revenue increased by 100's of percent in just a couple of days.
It also introduces the 3 main concepts you must improve to achieve success.

Video 2 discusses adsense ad formats, what they are and which are the most profitable
formats colors etc. It also covers the rest of your account settings which is very useful.
Video 3 explains the huge importance of adsense tracking, how to do it and how to use the results to improve your stats. Video 4 I found very interesting as it shows you how the best results are obtained from placing your adsense in the best positions (some of these I had never seen before) and then rather cheekily suggest that you might not want to use these as they are too successful at taking people away from your site! I guess what he means is use these on adsense only sites.

Video 5 shows one of Patrick's adsense sites and takes you on an in depth tour of what makes it so successful. He then goes on to summarize the 20 best practices tips he has showed you so far. Video 6 goes into great detail about adsense's Smart Pricing concept. Obviously this is his opinion as Google do not release details about this but his ideas make more sense than many I've seen before. Video 7 discusses creating or obtaining content and ad targeting. For me this is one of the most important concepts in adsense revenue and he does an excellent job highlighting how to do this correctly, a very novel and refreshing approach.

Video 8 is all about pay per click traffic and shows you 7 different programs which he uses to increase his profits. This was another good video as so many of the gurus just talk about adwords which I actually find very unreliable for adsense and having actually run test on some of the sites he suggests I can verify that they do work and much more successfully than adwords. Video 9 covers additional revenues you can get from your adsense pages, which are and which are not allowed by googles adsense tos.

Video 10 covers traffic generating methods, opt in mailing lists and other miscellaneous information. So what is my overall verdict and how does adsense decoded compare to Michael Cheney's adsense videos? Well I don't think I can compare the two as although they are very similar they do both contain different techniques which do actually work according to my tests. I think if you are looking to learn how to either start your adsense campaign or improve one that is not making you as much as you want then either of these products will work for you. They have both worked for me that is for sure so the decision on which one to buy is up to you.

What's the Best Home Based Business for You?

Have you ever wanted to start a homebased business, and need to decide what's the best home based business for you?

You're not alone!

Many, many people have wished for their own work at home business. But of course the "dreaming" is easy. Choosing exactly which and what kind of business to start is quite different.

But it's not really that hard. It's much easier when you can examine the many choices by examining the advantages and disadvantages of each.

If you haven't decided yet here are a few factors to consider that might make your task a little easier.

1. Startup Costs

One of the disadvantages of many home based business opportunities is the initial expense.

No doubt you've seen lots of "business opportunities" that claim to get you started for "free."

Don't believe it for a minute! There are always costs involved.

Look for a possible home business with low initial expenses. But veer away from those opportunities where initial costs seem unrealistic.

Examine these offers carefully.

2. Time to Become Profitable

A new home business isn't like to be profitable immediately. In fact just recovering your initial investment can sometimes take months.

Of course the time needed to recoup your investment will also depend on just how great that initial investment was.

But in any event you'll usually do better to choose a business that will begin turning a profit sooner rather than later.

3. Ability to Start While Maintaining Your Current Job

The problem with a lot of business start-ups is they put you in an untenable situation money wise.

No matter how quickly a new business becomes profitable, there's still a period of time when there'll be no profits coming in.

If you're depending on your job to pay the bills, you can't quit your job until your business lets you earn enough money to pay your living expenses. But at the same time your job doesn't allow you the free time necessary to start your business!

The best home based business option then is to find a business you can start and operate part time while continuing your job, until your business becomes successful enough to quit and devote full time to your business.

4. Operating Costs and Profit Margins

Not only will you need startup capital, you'll also need money to operate the business.

Do a careful analysis of what it will cost you to operate the business of your choice. Choose one that will allow you a comfortable profit margin AFTER operating expenses.

5. Demand for the Product or Service

Regardless of any other advantages a business may offer, you'll never enjoy success if there's little or no demand for the product or service you're selling.

Make sure there's a sizable market for your product or service.

6. Continuing Demand and Economic Conditions

Our economy is always changing. Businesses sometimes fail because of changes in the economic "climate."

You could be making good profits one day, and the next day be watching demand for your product "dry up."

It's best to select a business that's not prone to fluctuations in the economy.

7. Learning Curve

Depending on your choice, it could take a long time to acquire the knowledge needed to conduct your business.

Look for a business with a short "learning curve" or for one that you already know something about.

8. Income Potential

Every business "opportunity" promises you high earnings potential. But sometimes those promises just aren't realistic.

Always remember the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true ... it probably is!"

Try to evaluate every opportunity dispassionately and choose a business that offers high but REALISTIC earnings potential.

9. Time Freedom

Starting new home business can place a great deal of demands on your time. Lots of entrepreneurs work 10 - 12 hours a day at least, as well as weekends and holidays, getting their business up and running.

Realistically assess the time demands whatever business you choose, and make certain you'll have enough time to devote to running it.

10. Satisfaction

"Satisfaction" is a personal matter, and one you should carefully consider.

Whatever business you pick, you're more likely to be successful if you take personal satisfaction in what you're doing, to feel that what you're doing is worthwhile, something you can feel good about and be proud of.

In conclusion, you should start your search by listing of all the potential choices that appeal to you.

Then look at each one subjectively based on the factors mentioned above. The best home based business for you is already out there ... you just have to find it!

Good luck in your search!

How To Make Money

Something that is never taught in all our years of education is how to make money. Yet this is a complex subject. Your life and well being depend on it.

The more you study of it, the more you will have of it. While it is not possible to talk in detail here about how to study money or the many ways that one can make money, it is possible to grasp the direction you need to take.

The starting point is to make a study of it. Then you have to practice what you have studied. It doesn
t matter where you begin your studywhether it is learning how to manage your money, or how to invest it, or how to create an enterprise that will begin to attract more money into your life.

Then you have to get rid of any money issues that you have
any subconscious blocks about it. If you dont have enough money, there is some way that you are resisting having more and even repelling it. Since money is such an emotionally-charged subject, most people have huge resistance to getting more. While they claim to want it, they also hold contradictory and conflicting beliefs about money. You have to get clear that you want more money.

As in most things in life, you can
t get anywhere unless you take a position. You have to take a position in relationship to money. If you are trading stocks, you have to take a positiondo you want to go long or short in a given market? If you hold a job, you have to take a position on itdo you want to rise in your company or look for another opportunity? If you are an entrepreneur, you have to take a positionwhat do I want to sell, to whom, and for how much?

The position is a point in space and time. The ideal space is here. The ideal time is now. In other words, you have to be fully present to your opportunity here and now. When you think of the past, you have to relate the events then to where you are now. When you think of the future, you have to relate the imagined events to where you are now. Here and now, then, is your only point of power.

How do you get what you want? You have to do something. And in order to do something, you have to be something. This, then, creates what you have. If you do like a professional marketer, for example, then you will have the rewards of that profession. Similarly, if you do little or nothing, then you will have little or nothing. Your action determines your results. And your actions spring from who you are as a person. You have what your actions bring you.

Who you are is actually a highly-intelligent and capable being, and if you come from that position of personal self-acceptance, then you will learn what to do, begin doing it, and start having more of what you want. When you set your intention, you will perceive your vision in three-dimensions, and you will begin to act in ways that bring you more of what you want.

Do you see how simple it all is? Why then do people struggle with money? It is because they do not study and practice it; they do not have enough emotional clarity about money; they do not take a position in relationship to the marketplace; and, they do not believe that they are worthy, do not act, and, consequently, do not get what they want.

Is Your Home-Base Biz Affiliate Friendly?

By Eddie Watkins

What do I mean when I ask is your Home-base Biz affiliate friendly? We all know that in order to have a successful on line biz, you must have a downline. You need to have employees, or in other words affiliates. You need to have affiliates dedicated to helping themselves, all the while they are helping you.

You have probably joined programs, as I have, that promised great things. Programs that promise Financial Freedom. Work at home in your pajamas. Make enough Money in 3 days, to fly around the world forever. Such programs may have great products with a great sales page, with some great benefits. But they don't provide you with any training.

After you purchase the package, that's where the promises and the program ends.

For your home-base biz to succeed, your affiliates need to be trained in all aspects of the business opportunity they are promoting. They need to know what the benefits are, for the person who purchases their products. Affiliates need to know, and feel that their products are superior to the next guys products. And most of all, your affiliates must know how to market their product. To me, knowing how to market your product, is the most important thing of all.

You can have a hundred million affiliates, but if they don't have the training necessary to succeed. They are completely useless to you or your home-base business.

It is your job (The Sponsor) to make sure that your affiliates are provided with all the tools and training, that's necessary for them to become successful. Their success means your success. This means we all need to help one another.

Here is a little (tip) that has been tested by me over and over again, and it has always worked in my life.

Have you ever had a difficulty or problem going on in your life, that's really been a thorn in your side. It's been messing up your head for a couple of days , and you just can't come up with a real solution. (Try This)

Forget about your situation or problem, and go help someone else. Your help may come in the manner of just listening to another person's problems. Or it may consist of helping your neighbor with his yard work. It doesn't matter what it is, just help someone else.

What I have found, when I help someone else. Is the solutions to my problems, will
mysteriously appear. And in most cases, the problem disappears all together. There is great power in getting off of my little pity potty and helping another person.

In my opinion (and it's greatly debatable) one of the main reasons we were put on earth was to help one another.

Here is great secrets that was revealed to me. If you want your luck to change. Do a good deed for someone else. You must not let that person, or anyone else know about your good deed. When the deed is done, sit back and watch the great rewards that you will reap. What happens is amazing.

The bottom line is that if you have a home-base biz. You need to train your affiliates. You need to build relationships these individuals. They need to be able to contact you via email or telephone. You need to take them by the hand and walk with them, until they can walk on their own.

And always remember. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

For any business to be successful.
It must provide all the tools and
training, for it's affiliates
